IBS is a common condition of the digestive system and the symptoms can affect people in different ways. It is thought to affect 20% of the population at some time in their lives. Recent research, in UK clinics, on the effectiveness of the IBS treatment programme I provide has demonstrated an improvement in 97% of cases.
Hypnotherapy is recognised by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) as an appropriate treatment for IBS.
Research by Professor Whorwell, a leading gastroenterologist in Manchester, shows that hypnotherapy can make a significant contribution to the treatment and management of symptoms of IBS. Improvements in overall well-being, quality of life, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea and bloating have been recorded.
I have undertaken further training in hypnotherapy for IBS and it is an area of hypnotherapy that I specialise in.
Before undertaking hypnotherapy it is important that IBS is diagnosed by your doctor so that he or she can rule out other causes of your symptoms.
